The Role
Effluent Plant Operatives work within the Effluent Plant area of the yard and are responsible for the smooth continual running of the Effluent Plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and condition of the effluent plant and its surrounding areas, i.e., the yard and the effluent room.
- Maintain the cleaning standards of all elements of the effluent plant, surrounding areas, the yard and keeping the yellow walkways clear.
- Collect water samples to be taken to the laboratory.
- Communicate with relevant departments and external waste handling contractors on plant malfunction and/or issues with waste transfer/products.
- Monitoring pest control bait boxes.
- Always adhere to company policies including the personal hygiene policy, using correct manual handling techniques, and always wearing the correct PPE.
- Understand, support, and promote brand integrity and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

- The post holder needs to have the physical capability to cope with the demands of the job, with the inclusion of working at height.
Hours of Work
- Normal contractual hours of work are 45 hours per week, the normal dayshift working day is from 07.00-16.00 Monday to Friday inclusive. However, your working times may vary and will depend on the demands of the role and the needs of the business.
